Job fair for veterans, transitioning military and spouses in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Colorado Springs Police Department and El Paso County Sheriff's Department are among a number of employers taking part in a job fair for veterans, transitioning military and spouses in Colorado Springs.

Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center is hosting the emergency services-focused job fair on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 530 Communication Circle in Colorado Springs.

“The market remains tight for highly-skilled, qualified candidates,” said Paul Price, Mt. Carmel Transition and Employment Director. “Employers know the military and veteran community represents an incredible talent pool and that they bring great experience to the emergency services mission.”

Candidates are encouraged to visit employer websites to research positions ahead of the job fair and arrive with copies of resumes, professional training documentation and proof of service.

Participating employers include: Colorado Springs Police Department; El Paso County Sheriff’s Office; Colorado Department of Corrections; Colorado State Troopers; U.S. Secret Service; Customs and Border Patrol; Federal Bureau of Prisons; Sterling Police Department; Thornton Police Department, Allied Universal and others.
