Human remains found in Colorado identified as missing woman, homicide investigation underway

The human remains found at an abandoned Colorado truck stop were identified on Tuesday as a missing woman.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation said the remains belong to LeBrea Jackson. Jackson was reported missing to the Aurora Police on Dec. 26 by her family.

The cause of death was not released to the public. Police are investigating this as a homicide.

The remains were found near the town of Aguilar on Sunday in Las Animas County. The town is about 20 miles north of Trinidad.
