How you can help victims of domestic violence this Mother's Day

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Moving company, Two Men and a Truck, is teaming up with TESSA to collect items for victims of domestic violence.

The collection campaign is called "Movers for Moms." and aims to make sure local mothers and victims of abuse have something for Mother's Day.

According to TESSA, 35 domestic violence calls are made to police daily in Colorado Springs. TESSA provides a safe house, crisis line, counseling, legal aid and other services for victims.

Two Men and a Truck is asking for donations including gift cards, phone cards, movie tickets, and vouchers for hotel rooms. Other ideas include manicure sets, makeup sets, pajamas, slippers or a gift a child would like to give a mother. Home items you can donate include kitchenware, plastic cups, baking supplies, bath towels and laundry supplies. You can also donate new and full sized toiletries.
