Horse rescued in Fremont County

FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Deputies with the Fremont County Sheriff's Office alongside the Cañon City Area Fire Protection District and citizens rescued a horse on Tuesday.

The sheriff's office posted several pictures on Facebook showcasing the rescue effort. Deputies were called to the area of 15th and Washington in Cañon City on the report a horse was stuck in the mud. Deputies and crew members with the fire protection district didn't shy away from getting dirty to rescue the large animal.

The sheriff's office, Cañon City Area Fire Protection District, South Street Auto and citizens helped save Diamond the horse. Diamond was uninjured. Photos of the rescue can be viewed below:
