Honor and remember, people gather at Columbine Memorial

LITTLETON, Colo. (KKTV) - A day before the 20th anniversary of the Columbine Shooting people gathered at a memorial to remember the lives lost that tragic day.

The shooting was carried out on April 20, 1999. The lives of 12 students and one teacher were taken that day. An additional 21 people were injured. On Friday, a vigil was scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Clement Park at the Columbine Memorial. The memorial was dedicated and opened to the public on Sept. 21, 2017. The memorial was designed to be a place of peace, comfort and reflection remembering all those who were impacted by the horrific tragedy.
