Police identify suspect and victim in Springs club homicide

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The man who prompted police activity in a Springs neighborhood Saturday morning is the same man accused of fatally shooting someone outside a club hours earlier.

Police found a man badly injured outside Club La Costa just after 1 a.m. The victim was identified on Monday as 17-year-old Ervey Enriquez.

"The Colorado Springs Police Department received information of a fight that later turned into a shooting in the 400 block of South Circle Drive," said CSPD spokesperson Lt. Howard Black.

Enriquez was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries..

Police said the death is being investigated as a homicide.

Hours later, officers executed a warrant in the 6200 block of Riverdale Drive. While there, residents were urged to stay inside their homes with the doors and windows locked.

Police later confirmed they were looking for Edwin Figueroa, the suspect in the club shooting. Figueroa was not found in the home and remains at large as of Monday morning.
