A Colorado Springs family is pleading for the public's help in tracking down a stolen motorcycle that has a priceless piece of their family on it.

In September of 2017 a 1972 Harley Davidson FLH was stolen along with the ashes of the owner's late wife. Although the motorcycle is worth about $10,000, the ashes placed in a container welded onto the fuel tank holding his wife are considered priceless.

"He wanted to continue to ride with her for the rest of his life," said ‎Sammy Gallagher‎ referring to why her father placed her mother's ashes with the bike.

The motorcycle was parked along W. Vermijo Avenue in Colorado Springs. The transmission to the bike was shot, so the owner was keeping it at a friend's house while he worked to fix it. The Colorado license plate on the bike is 404-RKH.

11 News checked back in with the victim in September of 2019. At that time the ashes and motorcycle were still missing.

If you have any information on this crime, contact Colorado Springs police at 719-444-7000.
