List of locations and times for free food for kids during summer

Summer is practically here, and many districts will be continuing the free meal program started in March with the coronavirus forced schools to shut down across the state.

11 News reached out to the biggest districts in and around the Pikes Peak region for information on how their students can obtain food while school is out for the summer.

(All information current as of the week of June 29. Dates are Monday through Friday unless otherwise indicated. We will continue to add schools or otherwise update this list as needed.)

Academy School District 20

Students under 18 can pick up a "brunch" bag Monday-Thursday between 10-11 a.m. Service runs through June 30. Food is offered at the following locations:

Eagleview Middle School

Timberview Middle School

Colorado Springs School District 11

Through July 31, students can pick up a combined breakfast and lunch bag from the following school and bus stop locations between 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Harrison School District 2

Harrison School District Two is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children 18 and under. Meals are available between 10 a.m. and noon until July 31. No meals will be served on July 3 due to the Fourth of July holiday. Instead, children can get two meals on Thursday, July 2. Food is available at the following locations:

Meals will be served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. through June 30. Bags will include breakfast and lunch. They can be picked up at the following locations:

June 9-July 31, D-60 will be offering meals from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays:

Pantries for families in need have been established at the following two locations from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the following dates:

South Park Elementary: June 15, June 29, and July 13

Irving Elementary: June 22, July 6, and July 20

Pueblo County School District 70

The summer meal program will begin June 1 at three locations in Pueblo County. Students under 19 will receive two free breakfasts and two free lunches with each bag. Parents/guardians under 60 can purchase a bag for $6; grandparents over 60 may receive a free meal if picking up a meal for a grandchild. The locations below are open Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.:

Meals can be picked up Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting May 27 at the following schools:

Canon City High School: 10:45 a.m.-11:05 a.m. (also available from 11:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m. as a central location for whole district)

Canon Exploratory School: 11:25 a.m. - 11:55 a.m.

Harrison School: 12:10 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Lincoln School of Science and Tech: 1 p.m.-1:20 p.m.

McKinley School: 1:30 p.m.-1:50 p.m.
