Fort Carson sends all non-missionessential personnel home for forecasted severe weather

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - All non-mission essential personnel were sent home early from Fort Carson on Wednesday with possible severe weather in the forecast.

The announcement from Fort Carson came just before 3 p.m. Strong to severe storms are expected along the Front Range and Plains. A severe thunderstorm watch was in place for the following counties until 9 p.m.: El Paso, Pueblo, Teller, Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Crowley, Denver, Douglas, Elbert, Jefferson, Larimer, Otero, and Weld.
