Firefighters contain Fountain structure fire on windy Sunday

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KKTV) - Firefighters battled through fierce wind gusts to extinguish a house fire in south Fountain early Sunday afternoon.

The fire was reported around noon in the 800 block of Daffodil Street, located in a neighborhood just north of Jimmy Camp Road and Link Road.

Investigators think the fire started from a grill and spread to the side of one home. It eventually caught fire on a neighbors fence which then caught the neighbors home on fire as well.

Families living in those homes were inside their houses when the fire started. A neighbor saw the fire and notified the families.

Both families got out in time without any injuries.

Firefighters finally got the fire under control around 1:30 in the afternoon.

Hanover and Security Fire Departments responded to the fire to help Fountain because of the intensity of the winds.
