Firefighters battle blaze in industrial building

Firefighters spent a few hours trying to contain a fire burning in an industrial building on the east side of Colorado Springs.

"First arriving crews found fire going through the roof," said Don Watkins with the Colorado Springs Fire Department.

The fire was reported just before 11:45 p.m. Tuesday at Geiger and Wooten.

"We went defensive immediately," Watkins said. "We never did have firefighters in the building."

After the fire was extinguished, crews spent time checking the integrity of the building. It's not known how much damage was caused by the fire.

No one was injured in the incident. Investigators are now trying to determine what started the fire.
