Fort Carson officials announced on Thursday the general public should expect increased noise levels Friday morning with more than two dozen helicopters taking to the sky.

The 25 UH-60 Black Haw helicopters will be visible across the Colorado Springs Front Range area between the Mountain Post and the U.S. Air Force Academy. They are expected to be airborne between 7 and 11 a.m. on Friday. The helicopters are unarmed and it is part of a readiness exercise.

"Fort Carson is dedicated to being good neighbors and will continue to inform the public about air movements that may affect surrounding communities," Fort Carson officials wrote in a release. "We will continue to listen to our community and work through any noise issues that arise."

Noise complaints should be directed to the Fort Carson Public Affairs Office at 719-526-9849.
