Emergency pothole work closes 1 lane on southbound I-25 in the 'gap'

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (KKTV) - Expect delays on the I-25 "gap" Monday as crews begin emergency pothole repair work south of Castle Rock.

The work begins at 8:30 a.m. and is expected to last several hours. During that time, one lane on southbound I-25 will be closed.

CDOT says freeze-thaw cycles like the one experienced last week often lead to potholes, which are caused by the expansion and contraction of groundwater underneath pavement.
