EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A Colorado teacher was arrested for child pornography on Monday. According to arrest papers obtained by 11 News his ex-wife reported the alleged crime to police.

The El Paso County Sheriff's office announced the arrest of 28-year-old Patrick McMahon. He was taken into custody at Ellicott High School without incident. He was arrested for sexual exploitation of a child and is being held without bond.

“The District placed Ellicott High School teacher, Patrick McMahon on administrative leave. To our knowledge the allegations do not pertain to any of our students in Ellicott and did not happen on district property or on district time. Ellicott Schools will be cooperating fully with the investigation. Please direct any questions to Ellicott School District Superintendent Chris Smith.”

McMahon's ex-wife reportedly told officers she saw him looking at child pornography in 2015 and 2016. She didn't report it at the time. She only recently came forward because she heard he's coaching youth soccer according to arrest papers.

McMahon's ex-wife had an old laptop he gave her. She guessed he had fewer than 100 child pornography pictures downloaded in 2016. McMahon reportedly confirmed he used the laptop to download child porn and used them to masturbate. He told investigators they would "likely find more images" on his cell phone and desktop computer at home.

McMahon also told investigators he used programs like TUMBLR, WHISPER and 4CHAN on a variety of devices in recent years to access and download child pornography.

The arrest papers also state two female students complained to the school resource officer that McMahon made them feel uncomfortable.

The sheriff's office reported they don't believe there are any additional victims. If anyone has any information on this case they are asked to call 719-520-6666.
