Teen arrested for the murder of Elijah Bojorquez in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A teenager was arrested for the murder of 18-year-old Elijah Bojorquez in Colorado Springs.

Police were called to a shooting Friday night at about 7:20 in the 4200 block of E. Pikes Peak Avenue near N. Murray Boulevard. There they found the victim, Bojorquez.

On Tuesday, police publicly announced detectives applied for and obtained an arrest warrant for 18-year-old Micah Brutto for the charges of murder in the second degree and possession of a weapon by a previous offender. Police did not immediately share with the public how they connected Brutto to the death of Bojorquez.

Bojorquez’s death is the 15th homicide investigation in the City of Colorado Springs in 2020. The Colorado Springs Police Department investigated three homicides at this time last year.
