COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - According to police, just before 8 p.m. there was a crash involving a single motorcycle in the 2500 block of Hancock Expressway.
When officers got to the scene, the rider was unresponsive and medical treatment was not effective. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe that the motorcyclist may have been speeding when he lost control of his bike, drove off the side of the road and hit a tree. Police say the rider was not wearing a helmet and died of his injuries.
Hancock Expressway was closed westbound at Laramie Drive until 11:20 p.m.
The name of the motorcycle rider has not been released.
