DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – El Paso and Teller County District Attorney Dan May will be investigating whether a security guard at the site of a recent school shooting should face charges.

The security guard, who has not been identified, was credited with capturing one of the two suspects in last week's shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch. But there are reports that authorities are investigating whether the guard mistakenly fired at responding law enforcement and a student.

Douglas County District Attorney George Brauchler said Wednesday he had asked May, being from an outside county, to investigate whether charges should be filed.
