COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A cyclist is expected to recover after he was hit by a car Tuesday morning.

Police say the rider was traveling the wrong way and riding southbound in the northbound lanes of South Nevada. He was hit by a car turning off Mill Street onto Nevada.

The cyclist's injuries were not life-threatening. The driver of the car was not hurt.

When riding on the road, cyclists are expected to obey the same laws as vehicles, including traveling with the flow of traffic. Police say riding against traffic was what likely caused the crash in this instance.
