Firefighters in Colorado Springs were working an apartment fire early Wednesday morning.
The blaze started just around 5:30 a.m. near 2640 E. Monument Street.
Officials with the Colorado Springs Fire Department say the fire started in the bathroom wall and spread to the attic.
At one point, firefighters had to cut into the roof to release smoke from the building.
Eight people were evacuated, and two minor injuries have been reported at this time.
11 News has confirmed that all utilities were turned off, and Red Cross was assisting with the people affected.
Officials say the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but should be revealed within the next couple of days.
