Crews respond to reported explosion in Highlands Ranch

Firefighters and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported explosion at a Highlands Ranch home Friday evening.

The sheriff's office says the South Metro Fire Department was working to find out the cause of the explosion in the 6000 block of Blue Ridge Drive. The home is part of an apartment complex is near C-470 and S. Quebec Street. The sheriff's office tweeted out the information at about 8:15 p.m.

Nearby apartments in the same building were evacuated. There was no fire and "minimal damage."
