Crews battle early morning fire in El Paso County

Firefighters from Security, Hanover and Fountain battled a blaze on Grassland Road on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019.

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Fire crews from Security, Hanover and Fountain extinguished a blaze early Thursday morning.

According to a firefighter on scene, the fire started on the back porch of a home on Grassland Road, which is east of Marksheffel and Mesa Ridge Parkway.

Firefighters say the flames did not spread to the home, and no one was hurt.

The firefighter said the homeowner tried to put the fire out on their own.

Investigators were still trying to figure out what sparked the fire. 11 News will update this story when more information is released.
