COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Highway 115 southbound reopened Thursday morning after a crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection with Star Ranch Road.

Police said the person who was hit was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The department's Major Crash Team investigated the crash.

Investigators determined someone in a Chevrolet sedan was trying to turn left from Cheyenne Meadows Road onto southbound Highway 115 when they hit a person who was legally crossing the highway.

Police said they don't believe speed, alcohol or drugs were involved. Officers said no charges have been filed yet.

The road was closed for about two and a half hours.
