Troopers are looking to see how people feel about a creative form of punishment for people convicted of DUI.

The tweet reads, "Would you, personally, support a “scarlet letter” indicator on the license plate of a convicted drunk driver?"

As of early Saturday afternoon, 344 people have voted in the poll -- the majority saying they would be interested in the addition.

11 News reached out to lawmakers, who said they did not want to comment on the idea until it was at least proposed as a bill in the Colorado legislature.

Colorado State Patrol says it's had 2,496 DUI arrests before crashes so far this year. Troopers say they posted the tweet to get people to talk about DUIs.
