Colorado Springs police respond to family disturbance involving knife

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV)- Colorado Springs police were dispatched to a residence in the 2100 block of Chalmers Road for a family disturbance involving a knife. This happened around 8:20 a.m. Monday morning.

When officers arrived, they safely removed a victim from the scene.

Officers then contained the area and ordered the suspect to exit the residence. Officers said that the suspect resisted instructions so the CSPD Tactical Enforcement was sent to the scene.

Police identified the suspect as 32-year-old Gavino Brionez. He later exited the residence and was taken into custody.

Officers said that Brionez will be transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center with charges related to burglary, menacing and court order violation.
