Climber seriously hurt after fall at North Cheyenne Cañon Park

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A climber was seriously hurt after falling at North Cheyenne Cañon Park in Colorado Springs.

According to the Colorado Springs Fire Department, the report came in around 10 a.m. Saturday. Fire officials said that the climber was on Crack Parallel rock trail when he fell nearly 30 feet.

The rescue mission took about two hours.

The climber reportedly suffered a "significant head injury." He was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

11 News confirmed that the climber did have ropes, but was not wearing a helmet.

The climber has not been identified at this time.
