Climber falls from Boulder flatiron after prosthetic leg gets stuck

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A rock climber fell 15 feet from Boulder County's Second Flatiron after his prosthetic leg got stuck.

Sister station KCNC reports the climber was on his way down Friday afternoon when his leg got caught in the rocks. He fell while trying to free himself and injured his upper leg.

A rescue operation to reach the climber and bring him off the mountain took about two hours. Several agencies including the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Boulder Fire Department and Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks took part in the rescue.

The climber's condition has not been released, but there were no reports of serious injury.

Second Flatiron is located in Chautauqua Park.
