DENVER (KKTV) - Bad news for shoppers: Free parking at Denver's Cherry Creek Shopping Center is now a thing of the past.
Effective Tuesday, parking for the first two hours at the mall will cost $2, with an additional $2 added each hour after that.
The mall's general manager told 11 News sister station KCNC that even though it doesn't appear so on its face, the new policy will save shoppers money in the long run, as under the old policy the second hour of parking was $3.
But for those who hit the mall for less than 60 minutes, the days of free parking for one hour are over.
The GM told KCNC the parking rate is still less than parking in many other parts of Cherry Creek.
