Chance to win 'Officer Ted E. Bear' by sending Valentine's Day cards to Colorado Springs Police

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Colorado Springs Police Department is looking for some love!

Children who want to celebrate police officers this Valentine's Day can take part in a contest. The grand prize is a massive teddy bear pictured at the top of this article!

The contest started on Tuesday and is simple. Kids are being asked to create a Valentine's Day Card for a police officer. The chief will then select his three favorites to be voted on by the community. The winner will get "Officer Ted E. Bear," delivered to them by a police escort.

CONTEST RULES FROM CSPD:

-Participants must be 3 to 10 years old.

-Submissions start Jan. 14 and will end Feb. 7.

-The Valentine's Day Card must be homemade.

-Address the cards to "The Community Relations Unit" and drop them off at the Police Operations Center at 705 S. Nevada Ave.

-Include the child's name, age and a parent or guardian's name and phone number.

TIMELINE
- Jan. 14 submissions are being accepted

- Feb. 6 Police chief picks top three cards

- Feb. 7 Police put the top three cards on social media for public voting

- Feb. 13 Public voting ends

- Feb. 14 winner announced
