COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A car was sliced in half and then caught on fire after crashing and rolling on the interstate late Friday night.
According to police, the driver was speeding southbound on I-25 when swerved into the left lane near the Bijou exit (143) and crashed into a guardrail. The force of impact split the car in two.
The front half of the vehicle was on fire when first responders got on scene. The driver had been able to escape and was not seriously hurt, though he was taken to the hospital as a precaution. He was the only person inside the car.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
