A Canon City family is without a home after a driver crashed through their living room.
It happened on Central Avenue in Canon City just after noon on Sunday.
Ashley Embry was inside the home when the crash happened.
Embry told 11 News her grandma was making breakfast for her and her grandpa, when she heard her grandma say, “A car is going to hit the house.”
The car drove through their neighbor’s yard before crashing into their living room.
The car hit the home’s gas line and a fire started.
Colorado State Patrol has identified the driver of the white Buick as 21-year-old Kyle Taylor.
Luckily the family all got out of the home safely.
Colorado state patrol says the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Taylor was cited for careless driving causing bodily injury.
"You can't just run into somebodies house and walk away free it's ridiculous. These people have lived in this house for 40 years. This is their home, we've all grown up in this house, we all have memories in this house and now it's just gone,” Ashley Embry said.”
