Broncos hire Vic Fangio as new head coach
The Denver Broncos have hired Chicago Bears Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio as the team's new head coach. Fangio just interviewed with Broncos General Manager John Elway on Monday.
ESPN reports Fangio will begin the 2019 season under a four-year contract with an option to extend the agreement another year. According to ESPN, the 60-year-old also interviewed for a head-coaching position with the Bears during the 2018 offseason. He later agreed to continue as the defensive coordinator.
According to Fangio's bio page on the Bears' website, he's spent 32 years in the NFL.
The team began searching for a new coach on December 31 after Vance Joseph was fired from the position.
