Body discovered after car fire extinguished

PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - Firefighters made a grisly discovery after extinguishing a car fire in Pueblo's south side Monday morning.

A nearby business in the area of Gateway and Lake heard a popping sound around 10:15 a.m. and called 911. Responding firefighters found a vehicle engulfed in flames. After getting the fire out, they found a body inside the vehicle.

The body was reportedly burned beyond recognition.

Police are now investigating whether the car fire was an accident or if foul play was involved.
