PALISADE, Colo. (KKTV) - Bushes may have cushioned a small child's fall when tumbling out of a second-story window.

It's not clear how the 11-month-old fell out, but sister station KKCO reports the child was conscious and crying when Palisade firefighters reached them.

Firefighters believe the baby may have landed in bushes next to the home, which broke the fall.

At last report, the child was in the hospital with unknown injuries.

Palisade is about 13 miles east of Grand Junction.
