BREAKING: Students at DU asked to stay inside due to 'suspicious' person

DENVER (KKTV) - Authorities were asking students to stay inside Wednesday evening reporting a "suspicious" person was on campus. The campus was deemed safe about 15 minutes after the warning went out.

DU Campus Safety tweeted the alert out at about 7:45 p.m. The tweet read:
DUAlert: A suspicious person is on campus. Stay inside, if outside, seek safety in nearest bldg. Report suspicious activity to Campus Safety at 303.871.3000.

The University stated on Facebook everything was "all clear" about 15 minutes after putting out the warning, adding there is no longer a threat to the DU community.

The alert came after a man confronted a custodial worker at about 7 p.m. in the area of Wesley Avenue and S. York Street. Officials believed the suspect was possibly intoxicated.

It isn't clear if the suspicious person was arrested or not. The university advised the public to follow its Twitter account for any updates.
