COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - What started as a major power outage turned into a major traffic nightmare in Colorado Springs.

The wind knocked down multiple power lines along Powers on Wednesday on the northeast side of the city. The outages forced the closure of parts of southbound powers due to stoplights being out.

At about 2 p.m. police announced all three southbound lanes of Powers from Dublin to Stetson Hills would remain closed through Thursday morning. All southbound lanes of Powers and Stetson Hills were back open just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday. Crews were planning to return at 9 in the morning on Thursday to close one southbound lane to Powers between Dublin Boulevard and Stetson Hills Boulevard.
