Shooting investigation following reported home invasion
El Paso County Sheriff's deputies investigated a report of a shooting in the Stratmoor neighborhood Monday night.
The call came in at about 7:45 p.m. in the 2700 block of Aqualane Drive.
A spokesperson with the sheriff's office said one person was shot and taken to the hospital following an apparent home invasion. Deputies announced Tuesday afternoon the victim had been released from the hospital.
The suspects were only described as five black men and one Hispanic man who were wearing all black clothing. Deputies say all but one suspect were wearing masks to cover their faces and all but one were armed.
The group reportedly forced their way into the house and demanded money before the victim was shot. They then left in a dark-colored SUV.
