PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - A deadly officer-involved shooting was under investigation in Pueblo Tuesday night.
According to police, the suspect reportedly approached a home in a neighborhood near the intersection of Jackson Street and West Mesa Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. The area is just northeast of Mountain View Cemetery. Police say the man was asking a resident if police were around before he pulled out a gun. Witnesses continued to tell police the suspect cocked the gun and then walked away from the home he originally approached.
When an officer arrived in the area, police say the suspect pointed his gun at the officer who was driving by. The first officer continued driving. When more officers arrived at the scene, police say the suspect pointed his gun at the officers, and shots were fired by at least three officers. It isn't clear if the suspect fired any shots.
No officers were injured in the shooting. The suspect was identified by the coroner Wednesday as 43-year-old Kevin Pulido.
