'Training round' found in Woodland Park

WOODLAND PARK, Colo. (KKTV) - Authorities were asking the public to avoid a part of Woodland Park after police received a report of a "possible unexploded ordnance."

The call came in at about 3:43 p.m. The Colorado Springs Regional Explosives Unit was called to the Coldwell Banker in Woodland Park at 18401 Highway 24. The business is on the south side of Woodland Park off Morning Sun Drive.

The Fort Carson Explosive Unit determined the item was a "training round." A training round is not explosive. Authorities on scene said there was no danger to the public.
