Deadly crash in northeast Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Police were investigating a deadly crash in Colorado Springs on Thursday.

The crash was called in at about 3:45 p.m. near the intersection of Barnes and Purcell, between Peterson Road and Powers Boulevard. At least one person was killed in the crash. Westbound Barnes was closed for the investigation.

According to authorities, a vehicle was travelling westbound on Barnes when it hit a curb and rolled. Two men were thrown from the car. The driver survived and the passenger died. The driver had "serious" injuries. The passenger was publicly identified on Friday as 20-year-old Jose Alonso Robles Pulido from Colorado Springs.

The road was back open at about 8 p.m.

This marks the 15th traffic-related death in Colorado Springs for 2019.
