Deadly auto-versus-pedestrian crash in Colorado Springs

Police were investigating a deadly auto-versus-pedestrian crash in Colorado Springs Thursday night.

Authorities closed down northbound Academy Boulevard at Austin Bluffs just before 7:30 p.m. to investigate. Early into the investigation police said a man was walking outside of a crosswalk on N. Academy when a vehicle hit him. The driver stayed on scene and was cooperating.

The death marked the second traffic fatality near this intersection in six months.
