Arrest made after multiple shots fired in church parking lot during funeral in Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - A man was arrested in Pueblo for attempted first-degree murder hours after police were called to a church parking lot where multiple shots were fired.

Pueblo County Detectives were able to track down 26-year-old Leonard "Lenny" Rodriguez thanks to several trips from the public. Deputies were called to St. Joseph Church at 1145 S. Aspen Road at about 10:20 in the morning. Witnesses reported seeing two vehicles drive into the parking lot. According to witnesses the occupants in both vehicles got into a verbal argument when shots were fired. The incident happened while a funeral was taking place inside the church. Both vehicles left the parking lot in different directions. No one was injured during the incident.

Rodriguez was arrested for two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of felony menacing, two counts of reckless endangerment, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance.
