AMBER ALERT: Suspect in custody

SHERIDAN, Colo. (KKTV) - UPDATE 1/9/18 6:24 p.m.
The AMBER Alert issued out of Sheridan Tuesday night was canceled Wednesday evening.

Authorities say the 17-year-old girl "has been contacted" and the suspect Rodney Brown is in custody.

Authorities in Colorado and the region issued an AMBER Alert late Tuesday night.

Just after 11:30 p.m. an alert went out for a 17-year-old girl. She is believed to be traveling with 19-year-old Rodney Brown who is considered violent by authorities and may be armed. Samantha stands at about 5'6" and Rodney is about 5'10".

The girl was last seen in the area of Hampden Avenue and Sante Fe Drive in Sheridan at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Sheridan is on the south side of Denver.

The original alert said authorities were looking for a 2000 White Honda Accord with Colorado license plate OMB-236. The white Accord was located. Authorities are now saying the pair could be traveling in a 2017 dark-blue Nissan Altima with Colorado license plate UOF-493.
