2 on Harley Davidson killed in head-on Highway 50 crash, drugs and alcohol are suspected factors

Two people riding on a Harley Davidson motorcycle were killed in Colorado on Tuesday when a car crossed over the highway and hit them, according to Colorado State Patrol.
The crash was reported along Highway 50 at the summit of Monarch Pass Tuesday afternoon. Colorado State Patrol is reporting a Nissan Murano, driven by 69-year-old Diane Patten of Somerset, was traveling eastbound on Highway 50. A 2017 Harley Davidson, driven by 61-year-old Travis York of Indiana was westbound. Colorado State Patrol is reporting Patten traveled from the eastbound into the westbound lanes and crashed head-on with the Harley Davidson.
Travis York was killed in the crash. Linda York, a passenger on the motorcycle, was taken to the hospital and flown to Memorial Hospital, where she died.
Patten has serious injuries and was flown to Memorial Hospital.
Colorado State Patrol is reporting drug use and alcohol are suspected as being factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
