2 customers credited with holding down armed robbery suspect in a Colorado liquor store

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KKTV) - Police in Colorado are reporting two customers took action when a man entered a liquor store armed with a gun.

The attempted robbery happened on Monday at about 6:45 p.m. in Fountain at High Spirits along S. Santa Fe Avenue. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old James Mason, entered the store armed with a gun. Mason reportedly demanded cash from the clerk, but two alert customers were able to hold him down until the police arrived.

Officers got to the store in about five seconds.

Mason is facing charges of aggravated robbery, menacing and theft.
