SEWARD COUNTY, Neb. (KKTV) - More than 500 pounds of "high-grade" marijuana was seized by authorities on a Nebraska highway Wednesday.
A trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol noticed a truck failing to signal properly and it had improper lighting along I-80 at about 11 in the morning. The trooper pulled the truck over. While stopped, a K-9 unit picked up on the odor of a controlled substance coming from the back of the truck.
Troopers searched the vehicle and found 17 boxes. All of the boxes were packed with marijuana totaling 526 pounds of the drug. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is about $1.5 million.
Robert Rahon, 27, and Felice Girogetti, 38, were arrested for possession with intent to deliver and no drug tax stamp. Both are from California.
