ELBERT COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - An Elbert School District student was arrested earlier this week for allegedly threatening to harm some of his classmates.
The Elbert County Sheriff's Office says it was made aware of the threat Tuesday and upon investigating found reason to believe the threat was credible. The 15-year-old was arrested Tuesday night and faces two felony charges.
The sheriff's office says that in light of the recent spike in mass shootings and reported school threats, it takes "all threats to schools and students very seriously."
Authorities have not elaborated on the nature of the threat and are not releasing the student's name due to their age.
