1 killed after driver loses control on icy Pueblo County road

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A Pueblo West man was killed Monday when a driver lost control of their SUV and rolled it on Highway 96.

The survivor suffered serious injuries.

State Patrol says neither the driver nor passenger were wearing their seat belts, and both were thrown from the vehicle as it flipped over. Troopers do not know if the deceased was the driver or the passenger.

The crash was reported just before 2 Monday afternoon 2 miles east of County Road 201. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected.

The deceased has only been identified as a 48-year-old man. The survivor was 47.

State Patrol is asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call 719-544-2424 and ask for Trooper DeAntonio.
