DENVER (KKTV) - One man is dead and three others in the hospital following a shooting in downtown Denver early Sunday morning.
The shooting happened at 4:45 a.m. near 15th and Market streets, a popular area for late night diners and bar-hoppers. Police say it stemmed from a conflict between two men that then escalated.
"It's possible there was more than one shooter," a spokesperson with the Denver Police Department said Sunday.
“We saw blood on the floor, started hearing sounds of people saying, ‘Hey, there’s gunshots, gunshots,’” a witness told sister station KCNC. “We saw a body outside while we were leaving, something I never want to go through again. Makes me not want to go out.”
Denver police said the shooting happened outside of a business but didn't offer any other information.
"It’s unfortunate when two individuals that don’t get along or have an outstanding dispute, if they come in contact with each other downtown or any other part of our community, it’s unfortunate that people would result to this level of violence,” said Denver Police Chief Paul Pazen in a news conference late Sunday morning.
No arrests have been made.
The three surviving victims' injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
