Troopers with the Colorado State Patrol responded to a fatal rollover crash late Saturday morning.
The crash happened around 11:40 at southbound I-25 near mile marker 79 in Pueblo County near Colorado City.
Troopers say the driver of a pickup truck was heading north on I-25 when they lost control, crossed into the southbound lanes and rolled before coming to a stop west of the highway along a frontage road.
Both the driver and the passenger of the truck were ejected and died as a result of the crash. The driver has been identified as Jesus Villegas,63, and the passenger is David Madrid, 48. Neither of them were wearing seat belts.
The right lane on southbound I-25 was blocked during the investigation, causing heavy backups.
While the investigation is still ongoing, alcohol or speed do not appear to be factors in the crash.
Troopers are reminding drivers the importance of wearing a seatbelt.
