COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - An attempted homicide suspect is on the run after a brief run-in with officers Tuesday night.
Police say they spotted the suspect inside a white SUV while searching the area of Union and Constitution just before 11 p.m. He was in the car with a female driver, who was also wanted on attempted homicide charges.
The driver allegedly took off after seeing police, initiating a 2-mile long chase that ended with the SUV crashing in the 3500 block of East San Miguel Street. Both suspects made a run for it, but only the male got away. Police took 21-year-old Alexis Suarez into custody. In addition to attempted murder, Suarez reportedly had other existing felony warrants; police did not say what those alleged crimes were.
A K-9 was used to track the male suspect's whereabouts. As of Wednesday morning, his whereabouts are unknown.
Police have not released a suspect description or any information on the attempted homicide case.
